Rabbits should not be offered unlimited pellets once they reach sexual maturity because this will cause them to become fat. They need a limited amount of pellets (generally a few tablespoons per day) but they can have unlimited grass hay (such as timothy) and one or two large handfuls of fresh dark leafy greens. They won't starve, if they are hungry the will eat the hay. And they will quickly learn to anticipate when the pellets come, just like cats and dogs. Yes.
