My sister bought a bag of Kaytee rabbit pellets, thinking my guinea pigs have similar diet. I'm wondering if it is okay for my cavies to eat them when I mix the pellets with other guinea pig pellets. I just don't want to waste the whole bag of pellet…

Rabbit food doesn't contain all of the necessary nutrients that cavies need, but it won't hurt them to eat it either. Go ahead and feed it to them, so long as you mix it with guinea pig food so that your pigs receive the correct vitamins and nutrients to keep them healthy.
Absolutely.
not (they have different nutritional needs)
yeah im sure they can but im not to sure that it is healthy for them
It should be OK, as long as you mix the two as you said. Guinea pig food is formulated for them and rabbit food for rabbits. Both however are vegetarians, (herbivores). So it should be alright.
Yes, they can. But, some would rather starve than eat a bowl of plain alfalfa pellets. It's ideal to feed them a rabbit or guinea pig mix.
it depends on how much they eat. but its always good to feed your guinea pigs pellets
rabbit pellets are for rabbits. guinea pig pellets are for guinea pigs. Remember, both need Alfalfa hay and a salt wheel. and keep in mind feed LOTS of oranges and tangerines to your guinea pigs. If pigs dont get enough C they will die. See it differs from bunnies.
Absolutely not! Guinea Pigs need Vitamin C which is not provided in rabbit food.
sorry no. they don't have the nutrients that guineas need. although rabbits have the same kind of diet they don't need lots of vitamen C and guinea food had vitamen C in it thats imporatant
it will not hurt your cavy to eat rabbit pellets for short term.. just remember to next time buy guinea pig pellets.
Supplement with fresh fruits and veggies (you should do that even if you feed guinea pig food anyways!) Cavies do not produce their own vitamin C like other animals do. They can get scurvy if they do not get enough C in their diet.
