My Rabbits live outside and their water freezes in the night. What can I do to stop it from freezing? (I can’t buy heated water bowls or anything because they like to chuck the bowls around – even if it has water in. I have had to find water bowls that have quite thick sides so they can’t pick them up. Also, I can’t buy any of the water bottles as they do not like to drink out of them).

Hi, I’ve been raising and showing rabbits for over 10 years. There’s really nothing you can do besides a heated bowl. As long as you check their water a couple times a day to give them fresh water they will be fine though. A little bit of a hassle, but nothing to worry about for them. Also, contrary to what many people believe rabbits do much better in the cold than they do the heat so they are fine outside. Just make sure they’re out of any kind of draft. Hope this helps and please feel free to contact me at BossMare781@aol.com with any further questions, comments, or concerns you may have, Thank you!
i have the same prob except i have 17 rabbits wat i do is i change the waters 2 times a day. its hard work but its really the only thing to do unless you rap the bowl in some warm stuff i did that once it last about 2 days which works but its a little hard the material you can use is bubble rab or some um thick rags
You can’t.
You’ll have to have a second bowl. In the morning take the frozen water bowl out of the rabbits cage and put in the fresh bowl with liquid water. Repeat process each morning.
have you considered putting your rabbits inside during the winter? Even just a garage or a shed would be better, poor rabbits
Sounds weird but i have the same problem, I wrap mine in insulating material. I use bubble wrap but you could always build a case to put around the bottle to keep it that bit warmer?
