Sure…doesn’t anyone see the colored ducks and bunnies at Easter? The companies that do that every year wouldn’t keep doing it if it wasn’t safe.

Like someone has said before make sure that you put it on the rabbit and don’t put the rabbit in it.

For the people that say it’s cruel and inhumane – is giving your dog or cat a bath cruel and inhumane? I didn’t think so. So what’s so different with a rabbit. It’s FOOD COLORING, babies dye eggs in it, there aren’t any harmful chemicals in it! If anything there’s a certain red that is rumored to cause tumors (but they changed it and claim it doesn’t anymore).

i think so. but why would u want 2? food coloring’s non-toxic.

blacknwhitepuma 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Yes its fine! Thats what they do in movies to make animals different colors, just make sure they don’t eat it!

no, and thats torture!!

Anika J 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

I don’t think it is… why don’t you use hair dye or something?

conan 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Probably

Just Me 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

It shouldn’t do you any harm, just make sure you roast it first.

tara 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

I would suppose so since its safe to eat I’m sure its ok

The dye won’t do you any harm but it will color the casserole or stew and may put the little ones off even further!

greeneyes25162 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

No it is not safe. If you really want to be sure, ask your vet. They will be able to tell you if its safe or not.

drezdogge 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

no, its not only rediculous its unsafe
rabbits are sensitive to stress and chemicals and if you wet them they can get respiratoty infections, if you want to dye a pet a rediculous color i suggest a poodle

JAMI E 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Yes, its been done alot. We can ingest it without harm right?

dina b 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

yes it is just dont get it in their eyez or mouth.

Yo LO! 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Food coloring won’t hurt them – Don’t use real hair dye though, it will kill them

garden_anne 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Why would you do that? For fun? That is cruel and inhumane. You do not need a rabbit. I am sure it not a good idea.

Bonsylar 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Yes, food coloring is very safe as hair dye.
Don’t let everyone tell you its bad. Really, the rabbits (or dogs) don’t care. It doesn’t hurt them, so go for it!

EddieRasco 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Skin breathes and would take in dye BUT I don’t think food coloring is toxic to animals. I would check with vet first to make sure your rabbit isn’t allergic to the product.

alexherrig05 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Yes, and I encourage it.

lachicadecafe 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Are you an idiot, or what? Why in the hell would you want to do that? Poor bunny!

f.binphilly 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Why not it is FOOD coloring

dsulok 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Just be very careful. put the dye in wather but not the rabbit. Spread it on light with a soft brush. I’ver done this to my cat and it didn’t hurt her of course she didn’t like it but she looked cute. But she let’s me give her bath so I was able to get it off very easy. I suppose with a rabbit you would have to use a clean wash cloth and wipe her done every day to till it come’s off. But no the food coloring doesn’t hurt them I know lot’s of people who have done this to their animals but please be very careful and don’t get near the eye’s or mouth or the paws where they can get it off them selfs. You don’t want them sick. Good Luck

Food colouring`s ok but I did my dog with some leftover spray paints .
problem was i had to shave it off , and that was bloody hard coz staffies dont take kindly to being shaved .
he now looks like a black wolf and the milko wont deliver anymore .

dragoness 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Why would you want to dye a rabit, Im pretty sure that that would really harm the rabit’s lungs.

Artemm 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

That’s heartless; and by the way DO NOT DYE HIS EYES!! or you’ll get a blind pink bunny……….What’s next? To paint babies!

otter_woman 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

The safest way is to go to PetsMart and get the made for pets dye that is usually used to dye poodles.
Just remember that rabbits do not form tears the same way we do so you must add optic ointment to the eyes to prevent any irritation or stinging to the cornia.
The dye is as safe as shampooing your rabbit if used properly.

Brennan Roy 10.30.09 at 10:13 am

Why would you want to do that? I strongly doubt that your rabbit would like that at all. What, do you think it’s funny? Leave your rabbit’s fur alone, moron!

For the person above, why don’t we paint YOU pink instead. And in many cities, believe it or not, it’s illegal to paint ducks bright colors (eg. Gaithersburg, MD; Rockville MD; Alexandria, VA) because it IS inhumane, that’s why it’s a f***ing law!
