Ok I am going to breed rabbits but I am debating between 3 different breeds. I was thinking Nether land dwarf, Lion head, and holland lop. I need to know what would be the best. I am considering the lion head though. They are really hard to find in this area. When a pet shop gets them in the next day they are sold out. (I would not by one from a pet shop I would find a breeder and buy one off of them) I would also like to know what are the most common health issues with each breed.
P.S Please do not post any rude comments. I have bred rabbits before and never had a kit die or born unhealthy. I am just going to switch breeds because my dog ate the buck I was using because we did not have the latch on his cage. But don’t worry we got it fixed so it won’t happen again. I also had spent about a month researching on rabbits and how to breed them.

Okay.
I breed Dwarf lops, known as Holland Lops in the US. Also Cashmere Lops,i did used to breed Dutch, however i found them very flighty & shy for my liking,i now just keep them as Pets.
Assuming you are from the US,Lionheads aren’t a recognised breed, with ARBA(American Rabbit Breeders Association),however they are with the BRC(British Rabbit Council). Remember,Lionheads are fluffy rabbits & DO require a lot of grooming,at least 2-3 times a week. If you’re not sure you can provide that, opt for a Short haired breed.
Netherland Dwarfs are often sweet little rabbits, however it IS known for them to be very bad tempered Rabbits,i had 1 before,a Silver fox doe,she was odd tempered but adorable, its not my personal choice to breed. I know of a Lionhead breeder, near me-she used to also breed Polish & Netherland Dwarfs, now just the Lionheads & a similar breed the ‘Lionlop’,this is a Lionhead with floppy ears, really the best of both worlds! If you like both Lionheads & Lops,i suggest you go for a Lionlop,i can give you the breeders website,if you email me privately,i do not wish to give her personal site out to strangers, except you.
Are you planning on joining a Group? Such as ARBA or the BRC? If you are hoping to exhibit your rabbits, this is what you will need to do.
I personally love my Dwarf/Holland lops, although Lionheads are very cute,i have the very fluffy Cashmere Lops!
Hope this helps & best of luck! xxx
